Great place. Simple approach, short menu but focuses and therefore perfect result. The guy in the kitchen is amazing, balanced the flavors of the food perfectly. Another guy responsible for drinks and service is also good: friendly and accommodating. One of the best bars I have ever been to!
Cappuccino and sweets! We stopped here by chance, and of the small coffee shops in Göteborg, Bar Centro suddenly became our favourite. The coffees (single cap with lactose free milk and a double cap with regular milk) were among the best we've ever had - the Italian roast coffee was just right for us. The sweets, that we didn't plan to buy, but just had to try after seeing them, were a very pleasant surprise! The barista said they were Sicilian style sweets, and the combination of taste and textures was very nice. (See pictures - one is a small filled filo-dough-like pastry and the other is a wrapped nut-caramel flake filled with chocolate or pistachio creme.) We were so glad to find this quirky gem of a coffee shop that we went back right after breakfast the next day :-) (Yes, you can pay by card.)
We visited Gothenburg for 2 months and Bar Centro was our go to coffee spot most mornings, as it was only a 15 minute walk from our apartment. Consistently great coffee, food and service. The croissants are fresh and delicious, and my favourite panino was the salami & provolone, every bite reminded me of Italy. Every day we were treated like regulars; as the staff would greet us with a warm 'hej hej' and have our coffee being made as we walked in the door. That's amazing service. The location is in the central shopping area of Gothenburg, so check this spot out for great coffee, good vibes, friendly staff and scrumptious bites. Looking forward to visiting again a sometime very soon.
We heard that this cafe is a popular one in Gbg so gave it a try for a Sunday breakfast. The bread was not fresh and only had little cheese on top . They didn’t offer brewed coffee but americano. The cappuccino was ok. I wonder the buzz may be due to location or the crowd this place attracts. They also offers natural wines which I should come back for some other time
