Defendor AB was founded under the name of Vapensmedjan Nilsson & Spuhr in 1996, and it soon became known as one of the leading gunsmithing services in Sweden. The company was sold to Mats Olsson in 1998, at which time the company changed name to Mil Sec Defendor (to reflect it being part of the Mil Sec group). Mil Sec Defendor also took over Mil Sec Scandinavia AB’s role as the principal Glock dealer in Sweden, supplying the Swedish Armed Forces, Coast Guard and Customs Service with Glock pistols. Since then the company has ceased it's gunsmithing operation and instead added additional brands to it's fold; such as ELCAN, Research Electronics International, SELEX ES, SmokeCloak, TASER, and Telerob. As of March 31, 2015 Defendor AB closed it's Malmö office and moved all business activities to Gothenburg.
