The measurement systems of Shapeline are based on the research of Dr. Pär Kierkegaard at the University of Linköping, Sweden. Pär, now Vice President - Sales and Marketing Director at Shapeline, pioneered laser trigonometry as a method to continuously measure surface profile with high accuracy. After measuring several applications Shapeline are since year 2000 exclusively serving the metal industries and is today a privately owned company. The product line is divided into these measurement systems: VeriShape – A compact gauge for hot applications. VeriFlex – For material widths larger than 500 mm and special applications. VeriFlat – A fully integrated sensor for material widths up to 2000 mm. VeriPrecise – For material widths between 100 and 700 mm. VeriCompact – For material widths between 0 and 100 mm.
