Super friendly and super helpful staff. Meet us at a location upstream with the canoe, maps, life jackets, lots of useful information and even brought a 5l water can without being asked. And when we got back my friend discovered that he left his mobile at our camp site on a island so the guy took him out in his boat no charge.

We got the “Robinson Package” from Wetlandi and if you bring your own sleeping bags and food, then you’ll be set for a very nice experience! The staff at Wetlandi is very friendly and helpful and you can park your car at their facility. We traveled three adults and one child age 6 years. My wife had some experience from the past in a canoe but the rest of us had never tried before. My wife and daughter ran one canoe and my son and I ran a second (this was the setup suggested by Wetlandi staff). I would say it took about 1 hour to learn how to navigate the canoe, and as we started in a nice slow running river (the Holje River, to the north of Ivö Sjön) this was not a problem. Yes there are some obstacles in the river but we were not even close at any time to flip the canoe, hence the river parts felt completely safe even with a 6 year old child. Coming out on the lake (after about 3h on the river) there was a rather strong wind from the south, building up waves on the north part of the lake where we came from the Holje River. It was no monster waves but for rookies in a canoe it was enough to keep us focused on heading straight into the wind. It was a rough ride at some times, but with life jackets it also felt safe and we had no incidents. Now it was time to set up camp. Wetlandi have prepared some islands in the lake for camping. I strongly suggest you use one of those. We tried to improvise (how hard can it be…) at some random locations but had to give up (because of very dense vegetation and lots of rocks). After choosing a prepared spot, we got our tents up and started a fire and it was really lovely! The next day we continued our journey on the lake until we reached Wetlandi headquarters and returned the gear. A wonderful experience on the Ivö Sjön and surroundings

Lotta the woman who rented us the camping kit and the canoe was super nice to us. She has instructed us about all the available spots, where to sleep, how to respect nature. We went on April and it was empty so we enjoyed a lot to be alone and have a wild experience. I highly recommend wetlandi for their prices and the different option they offer. Looking forward to come again.
