I am a therapist with official Step 1 Psychotherapeutic Certification from the world-famous Karolinska Institute and a specialist nurse, with 19 years' experience in the care-giving industry. Licensed to practice both Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and having worked for more than 8 years in the emergency ward of Stockholm's St. Göran's Psychiatric Hospital, I have helped with a vast array of emotional, psychological and relationship crises and issues. Before becoming a therapist, I trained with The Red Cross to become a professional nurse and spent many years working in various hospitals and clinics in Stockholm. As time progressed, I began to realize that often patients suffered as much from mild emotional and psychological issues as they suffered from physical injury. Indeed, sometimes the best treatment for these patients was discussing their problems and trying to find workable solutions. So, in 2007, I studied hard at Karolinska Institute to extend my education and graduated as a Specialist Psychiatric Nurse to try to offer patients better service. This proved both so successful and so fascinating that I continued my studies to achieve a certificate in Psychotherapeutic Method Education, gaining invaluable hands-on experience treating patients, eventually becoming a therapist in the fields of both Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I believe that therapy and counselling are invaluable tools for modern living. We all face difficulties. Sometimes our relationships feel strained and hopeless but we cannot understand why. Sometimes painful memories keep us from taking perfectly healthy and exciting steps in our lives. Therapy tackles precisely these problems, helping us to understand ourselves and heal old wounds.
