Very helpful staff! Their security and police personnel are extremely helpful, strict but helpful. It’s the US Embassy after all, they have to be a bit strict. But if you follow the rules, listen and do what they say, they are extremely helpful and funny at times!

Getting American visa is a whole adventure. Queues for the appointment can be pretty long, up to couple weeks. But when you get there, everything is pretty fast and accurate. Waiting in the line outside when you arrive there is ridiculous, in my opinion, but, well, it's the us embassy. Staff is overall friendly.

It is recommended to arrive at least an hour before the scheduled time of interview and stand in a queue.Irrespective of the scheduled time for interview,till the point of time,an applicant is in queue,the applicant will not miss the interview.Do not bring any electronic devices,including laptop,since storage facilities are not available.It is better if you could come without your mobile for interview.No drinking water or restroom facility is available outside the embassy while you will remain in queue.Security staff are strict and helpful.Nearest bus stop is Ambassaderna of Bus Route no 69.It is better to not bring any bag but only a folder with all application documents.No nearby cafeteria available for refreshments before or after the interview.

The security is good at this location. As an American waiting for my foreign relative to finish their appointment inside the embassy, I was not allowed in the building. I was a little bit disappointed, as I really would have been fine just to even stand inside the fenced in area. There wasn't really anywhere for me to wait outside without feeling awkward. I ended up getting lost trying to reach our meeting spot downtown, but luckily a very kind Swedish bus driver helped me out and I was reunited with my relative. I guess it would have been nice to at least be able to go inside my own country's embassy, though. However, I understand that it was busy and they don't want people hanging around in there I guess.
