This is a standard, a recurring visit that we turn to every now and then since about 10 years and we've never been disappointed. On the contrary, I somehow feel bad for not going there more often... Matboden offers a relatively short menu (max 10 starters and another max 10 main courses) of French- and sometimes Italian-inspired food with a Swedish twist. The food is well cooked and nicely presented. On the drinks-side there's a selection of good beers, wines and cocktails as well, though I don't think I ever had one. The personal is knowledgeable and can recommend something that suits just your choice of food - that's a constant over the years despite personnel changing. The interior is inspired by French bistros with tables of different types and heights and a long bar along one of the walls. Unpretentious and cosy! If you're after a good bite for a decent price (not cheap but value for money!) then you should consider. Lots of pubs and the likes around the area as well if you fancy another drink afterwards!

Had out-of-town guests and the staff could easily handle a company of 20 people. We had an entire area for ourselves which gave us the space to talk and enjoy the food without being disturbed. The staff stayed attentive for the entire evening. The food will run you up a bit more than other places but the high standard was well worth the cost. Definitely a place to visit again and again!
The best steak I've been eating in Sweden. The creme brulee was heavingly. Cozy atmosphere and really welcoming and friendly staff that was very attentive.

Nice and cozy place. We went there on a family dinner with my 80 year old grandmother on a Tuesday at 8 pm. Not crowded at all, the service was great and the food as well. Good location and the atmosphere is very nice. Prices are also good to be a Stockholm city restaurant.
Visited MatBoden quite early in the evening. The chef and a waitress welcomed us to the restaurant. It was realy nice way to be welcomed. Ordered a nice GT that tasted great. Took a fantascly made filet of staek, Its great that Chefs some chefs dare to serve the filet as \blue\ as I wanted it. It was fantastic. The service was friendly and nice. BUT there is a big issue with the music inside... Way too loud to have a nice conversation with my friend. So we ate our food quickly and payed our bill and left... The music way louder than in a Pub....
