Mother and Child Health Association (MACHA) is a Swedish nonprofit organization that works towards improving women’s and children’s health in a local and global perspective. Our work is based on the United Nation´s Conventions on women and children (Convention of the Rights of the Child, CRC, 1989 samt Convention of the Elimination of all forms of Discimination against Women, CEDAW, 1979) stating women and children´s right to life, freedom and health without discrimination, violence and oppression. Our main areas of work are health care, education and women empowerment. Together with our partners we run Volunteer Programs in India and Ethiopia. We also work to improve knowledge and awareness of Global Health amongst university- level students by organising events and seminars together with our partners.
