If you have time when visiting Uppsala in Sweden, try to squeeze in a visit to the Linnaeus' Hammarby located a few minutes from town. Unlike the botanical gardens in town this museum has preserved both the 18th century buildings and the gardens and the park which gives a unique insight to Linnaeus and his work. Well worth a visit

Why a beautiful place! Nice set up, friendly staff and a surprisingly good cafe attached. If you happen to be in the area, go there and pay a visit. It might be helpful to notice the tour times before and plan accordingly.

An absolute must-see in Uppsala. If you pay to enter the Linnaeus Garden in the city itself, entry here is free, and vice-versa. The price of a ticket is great value, as both places are not only fascinating, but also incredibly beautiful- utterly breathtaking. You either need to take the bus, a car, or cycle to get here, as there's a bit of a trek, but the countryside is very pleasant and the place is definitely worth it. I have seldom been anywhere so gorgeous! The grounds are utterly charming, with a great little cafe-gift shop as well. Staff are lovely. The house itself is fascinating, and very well-preserved. It helps you get to know the famous botanist and his family rather well. Our English language tour was expertly conducted, and is probably one of the best guided tours I've ever been on. I'm definitely coming back! Tack så mycket!

Due to Corona the tour guide was not allowed to speak inside the house. No tour of the gardens or farm grounds is offered. It is a lovely setting. The house is well preserved. Can see entire site in less than 2 hours. Must also see the the museum. At 100 SEK ticket is very expensive if only seeing Hammarby.

Amazingly beautiful! Sciencehistory. Take a coffe under the appleblossom in the garden.

Beautiful and nicely preserved site. Worth a visit not only if you are interested in biology but also if you are curious about the life at the time. Beware though that the house itself is very kid-unfriendly and the staff is quite unwelcoming. Nothing extraordinary compared to other parts of the world but if you already got spoiled by kid-friendly Sweden, this may come as an unpleasant surprise.

a complete waste of time unless you want some coffee and a cookie (and are ok with paying entry fee for the pleasure). it's a small empty house (all objects collected by Linné has been sold to England) and some 'former' garden places which are now simply forest with a small sign telling you what you would be looking at if they'd bothered to restore it. one of the main buildings is a gallery for modern, hideous, \art\ from some local \artist\ completely unrelated to Linné. another is almost empty apart from some signs telling some of his history. the main building have some furniture and some 'stuff' owned by Linné. frankly, this is a scam and a disgrace
