I like Bueno Taco food. It’s one of the newer restaurants in town, opened by 3 young Swedes who say they have even bigger dreams of franchising, but I doubt we’ll ever even see a second store. They are dreamers who reached their first goal ...and are stuck in it, as a victory. Unlike me, they are not “Nike” men. I offered to bankroll their growth through franchise expansion (to 1 of the 3 owners I met), who originally showed interest. Problem is they are Swedes, ingrained “unfortunately” with their birth brainwashing (starting at birth with parents, then preschool and so on that something called the “Lagom*” syndrome (*take the middle road, do not lead, do not fall behind, team player, no bosses here) So here is the rub! The food is actually quite good ...for something designed to specifically look like its one of a franchise chain, like McDonald’s . But it’s not a franchise. It’s not even a chain of 2! It’s simply a restaurant. And it’s a surprise to me, given its location, it’s even still around. It’s empty most of the time. It’s next to a small ICA Nara market I buy food in sometimes. I hear the Town wants them, locals, to survive and therefore, subsidizes them. If growth is not an option, then I make two recommendations. Close this store. Move closer to the action, like Harry’s, and reopen as a real restaurant not a McDonald’s type look. Have real waitresses and serve the same food ...on an even more upscale presentation look, not fast food, raise your prices and you just might thrive. I’ve owned over a dozen successful restaurants on 2 continents. I know a winner when I see ur...this is just not one of them. They need to move and be metamorphic. If ur just looking for a good takeout Mexican taco, this place works . As a chain of one ...NOT,
Tacotaco, burrito
