If this place has not already went bankrupt they have been able to keep afloat just by using unwitting tourists like you to sustain their existence. To find a more uninspiring place you will have to go to a small town in the South jpart of Israel. (2935'51.0"N 3458'20.5"E) The reason it gets one star is that the drive to the location is nice and the surroundings are beautiful. The zoo itself is pitiful and extremely expensive. Avoid at all cost.

Some of the more exotic animals were nowhere to be seen, the place was in a bad condition. Maintenance would not be wrong here.
Meh: * Somewhat expensive(ish). You pay to enter the park (the zoo), but you also pay for all the rides in the amusement park; 30sek/ride, discounts available. A day-pass for everything (for kids at least) would be great. * Slightly old and worn, in some places you can see extension cords and such that are probably not exactly meant for outside use. * Due to age & elements, some rides have quite a bit of rusty screws and sharpish pieces/edges, so be sure to check the rides when your kiddo steps in, just to be sure. * On a sunny day there are not many places to find shade in (apart from the restaurant and small covered kids play area), so a hat per head is a must. The awesome: * Fancy animals, the kids liked it. You can even feed some of the animals. And the lions even roared! Most of the animals seem to have rather vast living quarters, which nice. None of them seemed to be stressed nor sick (e.g. circling around endlessly or just staring at a wall etc.) * For 380nok you can buy a day-pass, which is highly recommended, especially for kids. Also, if you buy the pass for your toddler (up to 2y), an adult rides for free with him/her, which is great. * The bumper cars are such that actually bump, so be careful. The safety "belts" are actually just cam buckle straps that you wrap under your armpits, around your chest, and hence don't really support at all; they just strap the payload/cargo, i.e. you, to the vehicle. So sudden stops from head-on collisions actually can hurt an adult a bit (7y didn't seem to care) * The amusement park side is rather small/compact and is quite packed, but it's actually a good thing: everything is easily reachable and you're less likely to lose track of your kiddo(s) should they try to go wandering around.
Nice
Frösö zoo needs a complete refurbishment. Cages full of weeds tropic house smelled really bad. The parrotts seemed stressed. Food was some of the worsed I ever tasted. The funfair was very old bad and expensive. Monkeys were sweet. Hope they do something to improve the zoo and the conditions for the animals asap.
A sad experience. No real theme, just a bunch of stuff and animals stuffed together in a cramped space. Felt sad for the animals. Kids really was disappointed. Low value for money, and just sad.
