Something really special about sleeping in a prison cell which had been used up until 2007. When you lie in bed, before falling asleep you keep thinking about what kind of people have stayed in this cell during its 136 years. Ikea beds in cell and a clean and good bathroom. Breakfast was also good and lines for the queue had been set up for covid-19. Could eat breakfast inside our outside in the prison yard behind the tall walls. Fun place to stay for a night. Bit expensive considering the square meters you get, but you are paying to sleep in a prison cell.

Rooms were very modern and clean. Breakfast was good but to get food you had to queue in one long queue instead of having separate food sections. For a family of four we had to book two rooms which made it quite an expensive stay.

Excellent! Rooms are a bit small but very quiet, despite rail station being nearby. City center is 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Too bad restaurant doesn't work later in the day - but that is off season, you can still make something in the kitchen.

Fun experience to sleep in a prison cell. Interesting information to read about the history of facility, some prisoners. This is a very quiet place and reception plus bar is closed after 5 PM. Have that in mind if you are a person with needs of 24/7 service.

We stayed here for one night so that we could get the ferry to Visby the next morning. For one night it was fine; I wouldn't want to stay longer as the rooms really are tiny. But the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was quite modern and everything was clean. It was a novelty to stay in a converted prison but I suspect the novelty would wear off rather quickly. The staff were very friendly, and the location was excellent (right next to bus and train stations). The Wifi was terrible. The breakfast was adequate. They only accept payment via card.
