This outdoor museum is adjacent to the UNESCO world heritage site called "Kyrkbyn" and all too easily missed if you don't know it but personally I Absolutely love it. They have many outdoor events all year round from a medieval week during the summer 2 can I date in the dark for children in Winter telling ghost stories let pie a man with a old fashioned fiery torch. During some of the events each of the staff in their respective buildings also dress in the same time era clothing at the age of the building.
Very beautiful place...best in Summer
Looks a very interesting place however it's closed at Xmas time.
We went in February when it wasn't properly open, I hadnt realised that one could have booked a guide to show you around the houses and farm buildings so we weren't able to see all that much. Nevertheless I'm still going to give it 5* as there was one house that was left open (by mistake I think) and we had a look around the inside - It was spectacular! It was as if time had literally stood still. If we could have had the whole experience I'm sure it would be amazing. Come when it's open (spring through to autumn I think) or book a guide and you'll not be disappointed.
Great vibes, educational and nice place to unwind :-)
Fun place to bring the kids. The medieval week during the summer is excellent!
Really beautiful area, quite a few charming old buildings and neat activities every now and then - check their web for those. I live almost next door but it's always great to walk around Hägnan and enjoy the atmosphere and the nature. Notice that 'open hours' for the Fägnan café and also all the other cottages follow the traditional church holidays, kinda the way it's been since way, way back in time. Check the website!
