United Resources Welcome (URW) is an independent, non-political, non-religious, non-profit organization offering refugees in the asylum seeking process, or refugees that have received their resident permit but not yet found a qualified job, a voluntary, temporary and meaningful occupation. The purpose with providing this occupation is to fight the negative consequences emerging from a long, passive and an uncertain wait, which makes the overall integration effort into Swedish society increasingly difficult. Besides helping the newly arrived, the organization and its functions are also structured to create value for the local society and the international aid organizations. Besides fighting the negative effects resulting from a long, passive and uncertain wait, our hope is that our organization and its mission will also increase their chances of a better integration into Swedish society. Our organization also strives to make the integration process as humane and effective as possible. Through donations and grants from individuals, companies and State and Government agencies, URW operates to offer the newly arrived individuals a meaningful occupation that invites them into a community, gives them a sense of belonging, the ability to contribute to a good cause and receive an early exposure towards society, the Swedish language, our culture and the local businesses.
