It takes about 15-20 mins by car to get to Karlstad airport from downtown Karlstad. The drive is quite nice and pretty straight-forward. Plenty of parking for short term or long term or even drop off/pick up. Once you get in, there’s a lot of seats in the waiting area and also a restaurant (before check in) and after check in/security check there are free local newspapers and coffee. The airport personnel are always courteous and very helpful. I travel from/to karlstad airport on business almost every week for the past 15 years and have quite enjoyed watching the improvements that have taken place over that time. It’s my favorite airport in the world as it is so unique and charming (my other personal fav airports of the world are: in second place Singapore, third Munich, fourth Sydney, then Barcelona, Christchurch, Vienna ... the list can go on and on and on ... ).
It is a little airport but you can fly with no problems

Kleiner aber feiner Flughafen. Man findet sich gleich zurecht, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich, die Wege sind kurz. Doch manchmal fallen auch Flüge wegen der Witterung aus. Gute Autoleihmöglichkeiten hier.
