This place alone is worth a trip to Karlstad. Situated in an old bank (think main hall) makes for a fantastic atmosphere: unique architecture (for a restaurant), high domed ceiling. The food was, quite simply, excellent. Presentation, the courses, some with a unique twist and the taste. My closest comparison is with some of the fancier places in Las Vegas. Highly recommended!

Great place! Best in Karlstad. Love the ambiance and the service from the personal. Lovely dishes ect. 2 points about the meny; - please make vegi meals more clear on the meny - and make a English meny, i come a sometimes with international people who do not speak swedish and i have to translate the whole time.
Really nice place! Good wine selection, the pata negra was perfect and lots of veggie options. I was slightly disappointed by the cheese plate but well, I'm French :) Location is nice, it looks really cool but it was sadly very loud.
A decent number of amazing tapas. Plates comes in different sizes, each good for its kind. Friendly and professional staff, nice selection of beer and wine. We sat outside pretty well protected from heavy rain.

Tapas restaurant in central Karlstad. We liked everything that we ordered and appreciated the good service. I will definitely visit this place again. Price around 400 SEK per pax, so pretty affordable too.
We visited my parents this weekend and decided to try out @baronkarlstad. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful located in an old bank and it feels luxury to enter the doors, far from an ordinary tapas restaurant where it almost always is more intimate. It's cool but we can imagine the acoustic being a big problem with the high ceiling and hard walls. Anyway, the food was good! Some dishes really good and some dishes a bit disappointing. The top three were the potatoes, the mushrooms and the fish taco. The disappointment was the Pata Negra ham, which tasted far from what I'm used to when it comes to quality. But overall we had a really pleasant evening.
