An old castle ruin. Quite small so don't expect too much of it but it's historically important for the region. It's open for the public during the summer weekends but it's also possible to book and borrow the key at Naturum Vattenriket if you want to visit.

On an island in the river surrounded by moats is what is left of the fourteenth century castle and bastillion. Once the last defence and a strong hold to defend what was then a Danish town against the Swedish forces. It now part of a nature reserve and a bird sanctuary just outside Kristianstad in the south of Sweden. It is easy to imagine how inaccessible this would have been in the old days as it is surrounded by water and marshland and with fast flowing water. If you have time and are passing by, I would suggest you have a look for yourself and spend an hour or two to walk through the nature reserve as well.
A ruin, but not possible to enter.
Underbar natur. Fin utsikt över Kristianstad.
