The national Library is a very good place to work. The facilities offer lockers, clean toilets, a café, tables with plugs. It’s very spacious so there’s always place to work. The architecture of the place is amazing, combining an old building with contemporary glass walls. The only downside is that if you’re here to work, tourists can be very noisy and walking around you.

I do not read in Swedish, so I can not testify about the nature of the books. But the library itself, as a place, working, studding, or just resting at the end of the day with a good book - is wonderful

Nice cozy \vintage\ atmosphere, a lot of interesting books in different languages (mostly Swedish and English), free toilets on three locations (inside and outside the library area), free WiFi. Only thing that I didn't liked is that you can not use their internet computers without membership card (for which you need valid living address in Stockholm, which is opposite to City Library), and that the working hours are really short.

Nice library, good free WiFi. The reading room is quite nice, old school. The rest of the building is quite modern - in a good way. What libraries should strive to be. Plenty of reading and study space. If you are looking for the library with the rotunda, this is NOT it. That would be Stockholm’s public library.

They have silly security measures where one cannot bring a bag or a water bottle with them. For this I give detract two stars. Seriously, do they think people are going to come into the reading room and blow themselves up, or fill a water bottle with gasoline and light it on fire? (Okay, I may be a little unfair since one could in theory spill the water bottle and ruin something, but it’s still an inconvenience) The potential benefit of these measures are outweighed by the cost in my opinion, but yours may differ. The library is otherwise quite fine for studying and research purposes. They have a microfilm reading room where one can look up old copies of newspapers and such, which I find facinating (see attached picture). For this I give a star.

A very uplifting and peaceful place to work with all you need, including a good cafe. Also a beautiful park to stroll in.

Free to enter public library holding the ‘Codex Gigas’. Upon entry, you will need to store your bags and jackets in free lockers. The exhibit itself is located on the 2nd floor, as you actually go down into the library below ground level. You will see the room as soon as exiting the glass elevator. Quite interesting to see in person. There are also free toilets and a café on site. Great spot to escape the cool as well.

The codex gigas is a MUST see and was worth the visit.
