One of three church ruins in Sigtuna is St Lars Church, which was on the pilgrim trail that ran through medieval Sigtuna. Dating from the 12th Century, only the clock tower remains of this stone church. Nearby are several rune stones that have been restored and are found all around town. Only a few minutes walk from the more impressive St Olof’s ruins.

I like how the ruin is kept as it is. No ugly fence or tape around. It is just blended-in as it has been there. There is a stone inside of the ruin, which is carved with ancient language of Sweden.

Nice old landmark, great picture spot!
Only the West Tower of St Lars church remains, but you can probably imagine that this church was quite substantial back in its day, apparently from the 1200s! Nearby, there's also the remains of a fascinating rune stone, that discusses what the rune may be referring to. The trees surrounding the ruin are actually apple trees, as I came to discover on my visit to the ruins. The place surrounding the ruin is well maintained, but still, be careful of fallen nuts and berries that you might slip on.
While an interesting ruin to visit, there's not a lot to see and there's almost no information publicly available about it. A five-minute stop will be plenty.
A beautiful reminder of a past time. The step of transformation from Vikings to Christians
Nice historic place and ruins
