We see young people as positive actors for change and want to fuel their fire and channel their desires and frustrations into concrete peacebuilding engagement. Peace Leaders is a national implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 and its acknowledgement of youth as a key stake holder in peacebuilding. The worlds youth population is larger than ever before, and youth are the ones most affected by security related issues – may they be local or global. More than 90% of those killed in violent conflict are youth, and 1 in 4 are affected by it in their everyday lives. Considering the large scale social exclusion of youth in marginalized communities, these issues are deeply concerning and in need of serious attention We want to create real change – starting with local peace leaders - by cooperating with local organizations and creating concrete tools for change, sharing our leadership experience and creating a global network of other engaged youth with a fire. Our view is that youth ought to be a part of the solution and not the problem! We are an all youth driven initiative bringing together the power of young activists and practitioners to change the world. We are not a project – we are a global movement!
