Our first large popular science event, Hjärnsfestivalen, will be a one-week popular science event, focusing on the brain, and taking place in May 2016. Over a week, all Stockholmers, young and old, will be invited to: • exciting talks given by leading researchers, • fun workshops • interactive activities • quizzes and games • exhibitions • lab visits • movie screenings • discussion cafés • concerts The program will be split into two parts: • a public program open to everyone, taking place in different locations downtown Stockholm and comprising the activities listed above • a school program, including library projects (started a month before the event), lab visits, practical experiments in labs with neuroscientists, discussions between students and researchers, as well as activities specifically designed for teachers (workshops focusing on learning processes, brain development and changes during adolescence, learning- and attention-related disorders).
