The disability movement in Uppsala county consists of a large number of disability organizations at provincial and local levels with a total of about 14 000 members. Cooperation between the disability associations towards the society's various institutions and organizations are both at county and local level. The Agency in Uppsala County (HSO for everyday use) was founded in 1948 and currently has 38 member associations and some co-opted the county associations.
