Very old, very Swedish, very socialistic gardening community in the city of Uppsala. Grounded in 1940 and still flourishing. The plot owners are allowed to raise a simple tree house (no own toilet) and test their gardening abilities. Some prefer vegetables, other producing flowers. The map mimics that of Uppsala with a central plaza where common feasts like Midsummer are celebrated. There is a community local and the central toilets. Occasionally one plot is for sale about 700 kSEK price. A small oas for people who could not buy a bigger weekend cottage near the sea. The state is crisis aware and supporting the gardening initiative in order to diminish the populations dependency of food delivery from abroad. Gardening is a creative, fulfilling work causing joy for hundreds of people here. In the 1990-ies the state required back part of the plots in order to build the highway Bärbyleden which now splits the colony in two parts.
