I really, really, REALLY want to give Åre 5 out of 5, but I can't. The staff were super friendly, it's a good vibe in the resort, slopes and park are well built/groomed and the opportunities are vast. Out of two days skiing our first day were great, even though the conditions nor weather were something to write home about. The second day however, it was bluebird day with some wind. Many of the lifts were closed, which is understandable, but information about this were nowhere to be found. This resulted in missed trips and reoccurring monster waiting times in line. Each lift line could easily take 20-30 minutes or more, people was entering the line from left and right, and the lifts had frequent stops. As an example, when one of the T-hook lifts stopped they had to send a snowmobile from the bottom of the lift all the way up to reattach the safety wire. It shouldn't be too much to expect that when half of the lifts are closed, they'd put crew elsewhere to ensure a continuous operation of the lifts that actually were running. It was a huge let-down to buy a skiing pass for a full day, only to get 5-6 runs and hours of waiting time. I get that the weather wasn't the best, but I missed seeing the staff thriving to ensure a good experience spite the wind.
great bikepark. no drops or big jumps. awesome scenery.
Thanks for a great World Championships weekend, with lots of well-organized events.
Very nice place
3rd day and most lifts closed all that time due to wind not so severe that you would expect such extensive closures don’t think we will be returning
Only 4 sky lift was in operation like out of 30.
Nice skiing, OK prices, wonderful experience. P.S. Try out Duved one day. It is awesome!
